Since the start of the Pandemic the Foundation has also been providing Covid-19 related Emergency Financial Support to families deemed in 'severe financial distress' referred by our local South Florida Hospitals.
The Mystic Force Foundation was founded in 2008 by Dr. Steven & Silvia Vanni after their then 4-year-old son, Salvatore, was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma Cancer. The Mystic Force Foundation was founded in 2008 by Dr. Steven & Silvia Vanni after their then 4-year-old son, Salvatore, was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma Cancer. Steven & Silvia realized how little funding there was for Childhood Cancer Research when they were told that Sal had a 20% chance to live 5 years. Knowing they had to do something immediately, they opened the Foundation and started a lab at the University of Miami specifically for Childhood Cancer Research. They remain committed to funding Research to find less toxic, more effective treatments for children battling cancer and ultimately to find a cure for ALL Childhood cancers.
After having been a trailblazer in his own fight against Childhood Cancer, Sal's spirit remains ever present in everything that we do. Having had Sal's cancer cells immortalized, he continues to inspire as he lives on in laboratories across the country to help find a cure for children like him.

All Officers and Directors donate their time and resources to help change the landscape of Childhood Cancer. Fundraising, scheduling events, advocacy in Washington, DC, overseeing the Heroes Hangout and everything else involved in the day-to-day activities of the Foundation are overseen by Board members and loyal and dedicated individuals that are dedicated to saving children's lives and keeping these sweet Heroes as happy as possible as they go through their difficult treatments.
Silvia Vanni knew she had to do more for kids battling cancer. For over 7 years the Foundation has held monthly in-patient hospital parties, but Silvia knew these children needed a safe place to go between treatments, and through her vision, the Heroes Hangout, the country’s first and only Childhood Cancer Haven, was born. The Hangout is located in North Miami Beach, central to all South Florida Hospitals. Heroes Hangout is graciously sponsored by the Dante Law Firm and is 100% community supported. There is no cost to the families to attend the Hangout or for anything within. At the Hangout children and their families enjoy themed events, celebrate Birthdays, have play dates with other cancer warriors and hold 'End of Treatment' celebrations. We partner with other like-minded organizations and community businesses to grant 'Wishes' and hold special individualized events. Especially now, during the pandemic, the center has been such a blessing to the families in South Florida, as it is truly the only safe place that children can go to escape the horrors of their everyday life battling cancer. Being able to play and have fun like all kids should is an is essential part of getting through the difficult treatments as well as the recovery process.

Children battling cancer are constantly immuno-compromised and cannot go to parks, playgrounds or toy stores. The HEROES HANGOUT provides a safe and magical place for them to play, attend monthly themed events, enjoy arts & crafts, play video games, 'Shop' for toys, celebrate Birthdays & end of Treatment Celebrations
We are so thankful to Chief Juriga and the North Miami Police Department for helping us to grant 'Jeremiah's Wish' of becoming a Police Officer. Watch as Jeremiah swears to be "kind & courageous" then celebrates his 5th Birthday at Heroes Hangout.
We love every event and celebration at Heroes Hangout, but our very favorite are 'End of Treatment Celebrations' And Maddie's was a very exciting and fun-filled Celebration thanks to our friends at the North Miami Beach Police Department.
Thankful to our friends at Miami Bikes for helping us to grant JJ's Wish
